Hi everyone,

Today I want to write about a serie, Skins.

I have  been recently rewatching some Skins episodes (while I do proyects). I watched it when I was younger. It is about a group of teenagers from Bristol, England, dealing with different and personal problems.

The serie consist of three generation of groups. The first generation appears in season 1 and 2 with tony as the ‘leader’. The second generation appears in the third and fourth season with Effy (Tony’s little sister) as the leader and the last generation with new characters appears in season five and six. The show made a seven season with six episodes of previous special characters. Each episode focus on one character and show us the struggle that is living that character, such as depression, eating disorders, mental illness, sexuality, drugs and more.

I really enjoyed season one and two but then the other seasons where a little bit repetitive and boring. It is not the best serie to watch when you are young but I really enjoyed it and I used to talk about it with my friends.

Now I like to watch more suspenseful/thriller series such as The haunting of Hill house. It is one of my favorite shows and there is an amazing episode that change the characters and locations in one single shot. It is very well made. If you like thriller series this show is for you.

Hi guys, today I’m going to talk about a special celebration.

In January of 2017, I celebrated Chinese New Year in Singapore. I was staying with my best friend’s family so we prepared by going to Chinatown and bought a lot of decorations for the house, like Rooster posters and some fake flowers to decorate the entrance of the house. That year was the year of the Rooster, so the streets were full of chickens and Roosters decorations. I remember turning in one street and seeing a giant Rooster balloon and people doing like a presentation, it was really colorful and beautiful.

At lunch we ate a traditional Chinese meal. The “Yuu Sahng”. It is considered as a symbol of abundance. The food consist of strips of salmon and a lot of vegetables that are mixed with a lot of sauces and condiments. You put them in a big plate and mix it with your chopsticks, take a little of the mixed food and rise saying a phrase in Chinese that I don’t remember and then you eat it. I didn’t et that much because the food looked like plastic with all the neon colors.

I really enjoyed this New Year’s celebration because I found it really different from here, actually New year is my least favorite holiday of Chile.

Hi guys, today I am going to talk about an experiment my brother and I did.

On the weekend, my brother and I, were craving ice cream and we came up with the idea of doing homemade ice cream. We looked up for the recipe and we needed only 5 simple ingredients; cream, milk, ice, salt and a flavor of your choice. I had a couple of Oreos so we made a cookies & cream ice cream.

We put half cream half milk on a bowl and then vanilla flavor and mix it. Then we punt ice cubes and salt on a bag and fill another bag with our ice cream mixture: closed it and put it inside of the iced one. We shake it for five minutes and we were very impressed when we opened the bag to find out that it worked and we had homemade ice cream. My brother put some already chopped Oreos and we ate it. It was delicious so we are planning on doing more with different flavors.

Although our mom got mad because we used the remaining salt to make or little experiment. She loved it and we had fun making it but we had to go buy some more salt.

Hi guys, today I’m going to talk about the national holiday.

I like the “18 de Septiembre” because that means we have a couple of days to rest and eat traditional foods (it’s not like I don’t eat these foods when it is not September), so my mom makes really good empanadas for these special days. I also like the cuecas and the happiness that people feel around these days.
What I don’t like about this holiday is that people produce too much trash, especially on the fondas, and eat too much meat (excessively). Another thing that I really despite is the accidents that people cause when they are not responsible with alcohol.

This year I move to Santiago so I get to travel to Puerto Montt where all my family is (I’m writing this blog while I’m on the bus). I looked up the time and it was gonna rain all week but that doesn’t stop us for having a good time and enjoy the holidays. I’m excited to go back and be with my family and pets. I’m also planning on meeting up with my friends that live in Puerto Montt and going to the cinema with my dad to watch ”It chapter II”.

I hope all of you have an amazing 18 de septiembre :)

Hi
Today I would like to talk about a park I visited.
I went to Singapore in summer of 2016 and stayed there for about three months I went with my mom (but she left three weeks later) because her best friend lives there and has a daughter that I’m really close to. We stayed at her house, which was really nice. We visited every place there and eat the local food. There is a fruit called Durian that smells very bad, it is actually prohibited in some places because of its odor. Singapore is a place that’s very hot and humid at the same time so in every place there was an air conditioner, especially at the cinema, it was very cold and you had to bring a hoddie or jacket.
One time I went out to explore the city and I got lost but it’s very safe there so I keep walking until I found a train station where I could go back to where I was staying.
I visited a park that was called ”Gardens by the bay”. It has artificial tall trees that light up in the night and have music, we went in December so de music was obviously Christmas themed. We had to pay like 5 dollars each to go up and it was totally worth it because the view was beautiful although I’m afraid of heights. We stayed until it was dark so we could watch the trees with light and music.

I really enjoyed that park because it was very different from the parks that I had visit and I was very lucky to be invited there.

Hi, today I am going to talk about what job I would like to have in the future.

I really like to bake and decorate cakes and cookies, whenever I bake cookies, I would decorate them with my little brother, so I thought of getting a job in a bakery but it’s more of a hobby.

When I was at school I wanted to be a photographer because I really enjoy taking pictures, especially portraits and buildings (like architecture). But I realized that studying design was a better option because it gives me more diversity job wise. I really like building things with my hands and I used to draw a lot too. My brother and I are the only ones in the family that are more artistic (he really loves origami) so I’m always doing Crafts with him.

I would like to work designing products, like toys, or maybe shelves and organizers because at my house in Puerto Montt I was always building organizers with pieces of wood and cardboard that my dad didn’t need anymore.

I would make simple designs that accommodates to different tapes of places. You don’t need a lot of skills to do that because now we can do almost all with programs. I would be very satisfy if someone bought on of my designs, like for example, a toy for a kid and see their excitement in their faces.

I think every job is good if you like what you do and are passionate about it.

I would like to talk about Francisca Meneses. She is a chilean illustrator who had live in a lot of places like Berlin and London but now she lives in New York. She studied graphic design here in Chile but she desided to be an illustrator because she love to drawand try new things. I found out about her through Youtube and then instagram. She had work in a lot of illustration for magazines and newspapers. She had also work in books illustrations and has her own ones, like "personas favoritas", She made a podcast talking about the subjet of the book with her husband Ed, I listened to it on Spotify. In this podcast they talked about every aspect of frienship, telling us also they experiencies and what they learnt about them. With this podcast they wanted to get in more depth about frienship around adults because a lot of them are directed to children.
Nowadays she has her own online shop where she sells her illustrations and planners, ahe also keeps doing Youtube videos about what she ussually does when she is working, draws and when she tries new art supplies and have a peatron where she explains more in depth about her work.
If I meet her I would ask her if it was to hard to move to another country and be far from her family here in Chile.
